Grüner Veltliner Rosengarten Traisental DAC
Position
Rosengarten, Traismauer. The southeast-facing site offers the ideal terroir for dense and fruity Grüner Veltliner. The vineyards are located at an elevation of 230–280 meters above sea level and are characterized by deep loess, with the uppermost sections often clayey. The topsoil contains root-rich loess clay, and below it, to a depth of over 5 meters, is calcareous, micaceous loess.
Cellar technology
Selection of the best-positioned grapes, destemmed, crushed, short maceration, gentle pressing in a pneumatic press, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then aging in stainless steel tanks.
Food/drink recommendation
A versatile accompaniment to dishes, well-suited to typical Austrian home cooking: roast pork with dumplings, Wiener Schnitzel, and baked chicken.
Serve chilled (9-11°C).
