The Karl Brindlmayer Winery

Karl Brindlmayer, now in charge of the family winery in the sixth generation, has made his enthusiasm tangible to a broad audience. The estate was first documented in 1557, and the family has been based there since 1833. The new website, byKarl.at, simply stands for Brindlmayer Karl Austria. This embodies not only the multifaceted nature of the business, but also sustainability as a way of life. In one location, vinification in the traditional wine cellar is combined with the modern ambiance of the estate, which also offers cultural events that convey a sense of life with a view. The terraced vineyards are planted on calcareous soils, sometimes characterized by deep loess and conglomerate rock, while on the eastern side of the Traisen River, a fresh, cool wine character is conveyed by the loamy-sandy soils.

Winemaker with passion

The winemaker is driven by the declared goal of creating, year after year, distinctive yet accessible wines with a distinctive character, whose charm and deep-rooted identity speak for themselves. Last but not least, he wants to awaken the traditional wine-growing village of Traismauer from its deep slumber. The new local wine line offers unmistakable wine enjoyment with the classic, precise Traisental style, which shines not least due to the special proximity to the Danube. The winemaker has long impressively demonstrated that excellence can also be achieved off the beaten track. Thus, the traditional brand "Brigos," in keeping with the ancient Celtic meaning of the word, embodies power without being pretentious. Rather, the house's flagship wine asserts its presence with elegant subtlety. The company also champions the future viability of the historically significant single vineyards "Sonnleithen" to the left of the Traisen River and "Brunnberg" to the right. Karl Brindlmayer's maxim is to be a local ambassador for unique wines with a clearly perceptible identity, with the joy of enjoying wine.
