Brindlmayer Wines are multi-faceted and carry the handwriting of the family

For over 150 years the Brindlmayer family has been connected with winegrowing. Using all our energy and talents, it is our goal to vinify wines which will please our customers. We derive as much pleasure ourselves from cultivating the vines and from – in the truest sense of the word – fruit bearing work close to nature in the vineyards. This, together with the soils (limestone and loess) and the microclimate of our locations, is the foundation for the highest quality grapes. The result is multi-faceted wine with character that carries the Brindlmayer handwriting. Our efforts have been affirmed by numerous awards, not least through the repeated inclusion in the „SALON Austria Wine“ and numerous Gold Medals at the “AWC International Wine Challenge”. The core of our diverse wine range is the Traisental DAC-Appellation (Grüner Veltliner and Riesling), which offers the gourmet an exciting experience with fruity and region typical Brindlmayer wines.

Success in Falstaff Ultimate Wine Guide 2022/2023

3 stars (winery ranking): „Linear typicity of origin, harmonious and fruity, a multifaceted wealth of expressions“, Dr. Karl Brindlmayer is enthusiastic about his top vintage 2021. After years of focusing on an academic career while supporting the family winery, he returned to his roots. He is enthusiastically overseeing his first vintages in the sixth generation. The family has been residing on the farm since 1833, which was first mentioned in a document in 1557, and regards the „Sustainable Austria“ certification as a way of life. In addition, the wines are bottled on-site, in an efficient and sustainable manner, in the farm’s own old wine cellar. FULL TEXT

Success in „In Vino Veritas“ Belgium: Grüner Veltliner selection „par excellence“

Grüner Velltiner Ried Sonnleithen Alte Reben 2017: In Vino Veritas: Made from 30 year-old vines on deep loess soils exposed to the South East, this wine was made in stainless steel. It shows both freshness and depth. Exotic fruit like pineapple and mango, some spices and a hint of tobacco on the nose, a good balance between sweet ripe fruit and acidity on the palate. A nice minerality in the finish. www.wijnkennis.be

Grüner Veltliner Ried Rosengarten 2017: Young bright straw color. Youthful nose, white fleshed fruit like melon and pear with an herbal spiciness. Pure and fresh palate, medium weight with good tension and rather long salivating finish with fine spiciness.  88/100

Grüner Veltliner Ried Sonnleithen Alte Reben 2016: Bright straw color. Pure nose, some stony notes with fresh yellow fruit, citrus and floral notes. Nice palate, elegant fruit with a fresh backbone, rather full and ample texture but well-preserved acidity and a long pure finish. 91/100

Riesling Klassik 2016: Bright light golden color with some co2. Rather floral and grapey nose with hints of fresh grapes almost Muscat-like with citrus and fresh herbs, some flinty notes as well. Nice grip on the palate, rather slim yet with dense fruit and a long vigorous finish with ripe yellow fruit and stony/chalky notes. Pure and precise. 91/100
